Yahia Djaoued to be honoured at R3 Gala

SHIPPAGAN (NB) – As some near-shore fishers continue to face financial losses, Yahia Djaoued and his research team are perfecting a new process to extract Astaxanthin from shrimp that will add value to the industry. Astaxanthin, an antioxidant 10 times more powerful than beta-carotene, fetches up to $7,000 per kilogram. Djaoued will be honoured at the New Brunswick Innovation Foundation’s R3 Gala with Guy Kawasaki on March 18.
