Breakthru Joins East Coast Startup Week

The blossoming East Coast startup scene will get a major boost with the second iteration of East Coast Startup Week (#ECSW), a series of events being held from March 16 to 22 in Fredericton, with NBIF's Breakthru LIVE 2015 as the marquee evening event. At Breakthru LIVE, over $750,000 in investments and services will be awarded to startup three new entrepreneurial companies in New Brunswick. The high-energy event features live pitches on stage, video features about each contestant by CBC News New Brunswick, live music, a cocktail reception and dinner. Tickets are available at nbif.ca – including those for #ECSW, where you can save with a conference bundle.

Brought to you by organizing partners Planet Hatch, the Pond-Deshpande Centre and NBIF, #ECSW is a series of events bringing entrepreneurs and local leaders together to build momentum and opportunity. There will be eight major events put on by a variety of organizations including:

Planet Hatch's Speaker Series Brings Superstar Talent

We're looking forward to hearing what Planet Hatch's speakers have to say, starting with mobile marketing master and culture guru John Stix, President of Fibernetics, serving a number of Fortune 500 companies; and Sean Power, a startup executive in data and analytics. Power is also an advisor at KISSmetrics and a mentor with Google NEXT.

The Pond-Deshpande Centre's mentor minutes have been a big hit in the past, and are sure to be a kickstart for entrepreneurial newbies this year as well. Each participant will have 20-minute sessions with a variety of industry experts in multiple fields in groups at a number of tables.
