NBIF Annual Report 2015-2016

The New Brunswick Innovation Foundation has had another excellent year, thanks to the amazing innovators whom we have the privilege of supporting as they work here in our province. We are excited to share with you our 2015-16 Annual Report showcasing NBIF’s investment and business activities for the past year. The highlights include:

·        A record 24 venture capital deals completed in high growth potential companies, investments that totaled $4 million

·        $1 million invested in 23 NB companies using our Innovation Voucher Fund

·        $6 million invested in applied research and talent development, building more capacity for R&D and innovation within our universities and colleges

·        A total impact of $37 million, with almost $26 million in funds leveraged from other sources during the fiscal year

Our mandate is to bridge the gap that exists between research and enterprise. As we move through 2016-17, we maintain our momentum with the same vigor and resolve as before, though with a heightened focus on accelerating the commercialization of research and a more proactive approach to helping our startups scale-up!
