Graduate Scholarships
Students undertaking doctoral studies that receive tri-council funding (NSERC, SSHRC, or CIHR) can receive a scholarship of $7,000 per year of their tri-council scholarship to a maximum of $21,000 – we will match up to $28,000 (4 years).
Master's Degree Studies
Students undertaking their master’s degree can receive a one-year scholarship up to $7,000. Students that receive a tri-council scholarship (NSERC, SSHRC, or CIHR) are automatically eligible to receive the maximum award. Students that do not receive tri-council funding and are nominated by their post-secondary institution are awarded $6,000. Students that apply under the social innovation or STEM option receive $4,000. Scholarships can be used in the first or second year of study alone or split between the two years. Ask your institution about its policy regarding how awards are disbursed.
Doctoral Studies

Graduate Students at NBIF eligible institutions are eligible to apply for this funding through their university.
Students must apply for funding through their institution and abide by the institution’s internal procedures.
