Who Do You Think Will Win Breakthru? The Finalists:

Five finalists. Over $400,000 in prizes. Breakthru 2013 has entered its final and most exciting part of the competition. After receiving applications from 47 teams, going through our boot camp, and submitting their final business plan, NBIF today named the teams that made it to the finals – a full presentation before the Breakthru Selection Committee. Three companies will win the cash and services they need to get their innovative businesses off the ground.

BREAKTHRU AWARDS PREPARATION UNDERWAY

A flurry of activity is now going on, as NBIF, Cox & Palmer and CBC Television get ready for the Breakthru Awards Dinner on March 20th at the Delta Hotel Fredericton. There, finalists will pitch live on stage and present a short video about their company. Plus, Peter Brown, co-author of The Power Of The Best will give a short keynote presentation about some of the secrets behind the success of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies.

WHO DO YOU THINK WILL WIN?

This year, CBC News New Brunswick will be broadcasting feature stories about each finalist during a special segment each night starting March 11th so people from all over New Brunswick can participate in the Breakthru experience. After the broadcast, the story will be uploaded to the CBC website to watch and vote for the Viewers’ Choice Award. The company that gets the most votes gets a trip to Toronto to pitch on the set of Dragons’ Den.

There’s nothing like being at Breakthru, one of the most energetic and anticipated events of the year. Tickets are already selling fast, and it looks like we’ll have a full house again, and a lot of networking happening. Plus, there’s nothing like seeing the excitement on the winners’ faces as they realize that what was once just an idea is about to become reality. Tickets are on sale now.
