Long-time tech executive Cathy Simpson new chair of the New Brunswick Innovation Foundation
FREDERICTON, N.B. – The New Brunswick Innovation Foundation (NBIF) is pleased to welcome tech executive Cathy Simpson as its new board chair. The announcement took place at NBIF’s 5th biennial Breakthru Startup Competition on March 19th.
“Over the past 25 years I have worked with so many talented people to nurture New Brunswick’s entrepreneurial ecosystem – I am truly honoured to continue that work with NBIF,” said Simpson.
Simpson is vice president, public sector at T4G, a leading IT professional services firm. She is a co-founder of PropelICT, Atlantic Canada’s largest accelerator program and most recently led the team that produced the Big Data Congress, Atlantic Canada’s largest IT event.
“This is a critical time for our province and we must focus our efforts on supporting innovation by driving direct investments in start-ups and R&D, which is the root of all great organizations. For me, that means supporting activities that identify, recruit and retain talent in New Brunswick.”
Simpson succeeds Dr. Robert Hatheway.
