Versos AI Secures $1.85 Million to Power the Next Generation of AI Training with Video Data

NBIF is proud to invest $750,000 in Versos AI as part of a $1.85 million equity round, joining Innovobot, Velocity Fund, Risc Capital, and Island Capital Partners. 

Based in Saint John, New Brunswick, Versos is building the world’s most advanced Video Intelligence platform, purpose-built for rights-cleared video training data. The company provides the platform infrastructure, intelligence, and chain-of-custody verification needed to turn raw video into AI-ready datasets — and a marketplace where AI builders can license data with full confidence in provenance, rights, and attribution.

“The industry is waking up to a simple truth: AI needs video, and that video must be rights-cleared, structured, and traceable,” said Chris Keevill, founder and CEO. “Versos is solving the hardest part of the AI training data supply chain — connecting rights holders to data buyers through a platform that ensures compliance, attribution, intelligence, and scale.”

The new funding will be used to accelerate platform development, expand the company’s global studio onboarding pipeline, and support the launch of Versos’ Video Intelligence Platform— enabling AI developers and aggregators to source, build, manage, measure, and track compliant, rights-verified video at scale.  With a global network of content and technology partners, the company expects to announce additional marketplace partners and product milestones early in 2026.

Versos has been an NBIF portfolio company since 2023 with $650,000 invested to-date.  Today’s announcement brings our total investment to $1.4million, underscoring our confidence in Versos’ team, technology and its position at the forefront of the AI training data.
