Market research shows that North American women spend an average $288 per month on fashion, using about 50% of those purchases for more than 4 weeks. Rather than leave those clothes and accessories unused in the closet, ELLA provides a peer-to-peer mobile platform that allows women to sell their lightly used items online through a social network.
Ella was borne from Kelly's desire to help women free up closet space and make money at the same time. The Ella mobile app is the outcome of extensive research on market behavior regarding resale alternatives such as costly consignment stores and social media platforms that generally absorb a high percentage of an item’s resale value.
