Eigen Wins In Dubai : New Relationship With Cisco

December 8, 2015

Fredericton startup company Eigen Innovations got an international boost today placing third in the Cisco Systems' Global Innovation Grand Challenge at the Internet Of Things World Forum in Dubai. Eigen was the only Canadian company to make it to the final six, and as the third place winner will receive a $25,000 cash prize plus business opportunities with the network solutions giant.

Cisco's challenge was launched in June 2015 receiving 3,000 entries from over 100 countries. After a series of elimination rounds, Eigen Innovations made it onto the list of 15 semifinalists, announced in October 2015, and now the final six.

“As the organizer of the Innovation Grand Challenge, I know it’s been a long but exciting journey for the three winners,” says Cisco's Director of Innovation Strategy and Programs Alex Goryachev about the winners in his Cisco blog. “Beyond the cash prizes, the three winning trailblazers will have VIP access to industry, investment and business experts, including Cisco’s global Innovation Centers and Cisco investments team for potential business acceleration and joint go-to-market strategies.”

The company's IIntellexon® solution tells operators and engineers the where, when and how processes or product quality is starting to degrade within highly complex manufacturing systems. Their algorithms use massive amounts of data to learn how to differentiate between good and bad quality products; when conditions are starting to change, it can tell the reasons why. With more R&D, the company is working on artificial intelligence systems that promote “deep machine learning” with the goal to both detect and fix problems automatically.

Eigen made their pitch before the Internet Of Things World Forum in Dubai on December 7th.
